PTA
The PTA is a group of parents/caregivers who are keen to support school fundraising and social events. Funds raised help to provide additional resources for our children. Joining the committee is a great way to meet new friends through school, support your children, and truly feel involved in their school activities.
The PTA is affiliated with and responsible to the Board of Trustees and holds a meeting on the second Monday of each month at 7.30 pm in the school staffroom. All parents are warmly invited to attend these meetings and/or help provide parent support in many of the PTA's activities throughout the year.
Some of the PTA sponsored events for this year include:
- New parent morning teas
- Family Picnic
- Stall at the St Heliers Festival
- Fundraising - Cadbury Easter Chocolates, Toilet Roll/Paper Towels, Entertainment Books
- Kid’s Disco
- Family Bingo Night
- Mom’s Movie Night
Friends of the PTA
The “Friends of the PTA” is an initiative introduced by the PTA in 2008. It is for people who do not want to be a member of the PTA and attend meetings but are happy to lend a helping hand when needed. Even if you are only able to help a little, it would make a significant difference to us and would be greatly appreciated!
Some examples of the things that the Friends of the PTA will help with include things such as collating orders, manning cake stalls, setting up the hall for functions, helping at the school disco’s etc. Being a Friend of the PTA can also be a great way to meet other parents in the school whilst having fun and helping out.
If you are interested in joining as a Friend of the PTA or any other related enquiries feel free to contact Helen van Druten at helenvandruten@yahoo.com.
