Room 18's Wonderful Visitors

 Last Tuesday Room 18 had some wonderful visitors. We loved hearing them share their stories and showing us their family treasures.

Here are some of the things we saw-

Aimee's Dad brought along one of the original warriors test jerseys. It had a special number on it which meant that not many of them were made . Tu Kaha thought it was really cool.                       By TuKaha

Tu Kaha's  Grandma brought along some photos and a map to show where his Grandma's family came from and also where his Maori iwi  came from.  He has the same second name as his Great Grand fatherWiremu.                                                                                                                                                            By  Lola      

   Devon's Grandma brought   a  picture that she has had on her bedroom wall since she was a little girl. It is of a little boy prayig to god. Devon's Mum has one on her bedroom wall just the same.                                                                                                                                                                                       By  Ryan

Ciara's Mum brought a photo of her whole family when her Poppa came out from England.  She also brought along the teddy bear she had when she was little.      ByAimee   

Rylee's Grandma brought along some really old teething rattles. One  was made of silver and belonged to her Great Uncle    who was killed in the war two days before it ended. She also has some old fashioned shaving mugs.  By Jenna 

               Callum's Mum brought a photo as a page boy at his Uncle's wedding. Callum is wearing James  because  his relations came from Scotland.  B y Micah

Ryan's Grandad brought along an old miner's lamp and also a modern one that he wears up in the attic to see what is up there.We all really liked the plane he had to make the wood all smooth and go around corners like when you are making toilet seats. By Callum

Olivia's Grandma brought a copy of the ticket that her family had when they came out on the ship from England. It cost 56 shillings for the family of 6 . It also had on it the food that was for them. By Selena

Lola brought the necklace that her Grandma wore on her wedding day.it was given to Lola when her Grandma died.It is very precious to Lola and she wears it on special occasions like going to a funeral. By  Aimee
